Hybrid and Access Alarm Installation

Requirements

The customer required improvements to a gated access system entrance leading to 10 individual sub-let factory units to increase security and accessibility for each of the tenants.

To improve the security of the site, the customer had various requirements:

• Each of the tenants had to be able to open the gate using a personal entry code.
• The gate needed to be open during daytime working hours – but only when authorised personnel are on site.
• The gate must close automatically after the end of the working day.
• Authorised personnel must be able to enter the site via the gate 24 hours a day using the entry code, with the gate automatically locking behind them if outside working hours.
• Remote access to control the gate from a mobile phone was required, and the status of the gate to be seen remotely.
• This system must be able to link into a CCTV system with remote monitoring and automatic notification of authorised users entering the site outside of working hours.

Scope of Works

Using both wired and wireless HKC technology, our expert team designed a system that allowed each user to gain entry using an individual access fob. We customised the system to ensure the gate remains open if a fob is used during working hours, and closes at the preset closing time.

Authorised users can also gain access to the site after the opening hours when using the fob, and the gate will automatically lock behind them.
A reader post is mounted at the entry and exit to the gate allowing fob and code access as required.

All fobs and codes are based on an individually assigned, allowing full auditing and control by the system administrator.

Full remote operation and monitoring of the gate is available from the HKC mobile smart App.

To complete this hybrid alarm system, we also installed an intruder alarm and central station monitoring on the plant room to deter theft and vandalism, as well as a CCTV camera system to offer integration, automation, and notification of any unauthorised persons on-site.

This security system now offers 24-hour protection and monitoring of the site and provides adequate protection for all the tenants.
